SEKORORO – A newly formed political organisation, the Maruleng Communities Movement (MCM), has officially begun its grassroots campaign across villages in the Sekororo area ahead of the upcoming Local Government Elections.
The movement has started introducing itself to residents through community visits, with members of its Village Core Task Team (VCTT) engaging directly with people in several villages. According to the organisation, the campaign is aimed at building relationships with communities, listening to residents’ concerns, and encouraging voter registration.
MCM says it intends to position itself as a community-driven movement that focuses on local issues affecting the people of Maruleng. During its recent visit to Ga-Sekororo, party members met with residents and shared their vision for the municipality while inviting community members to become involved in the movement.
The campaign attracted residents who gathered to interact with party representatives, ask questions, and learn more about the newly established political organisation. Volunteers were seen distributing information and speaking to community members about the importance of participating in local government elections.
As a new entrant into Maruleng’s political landscape, the Maruleng Communities Movement is expected to continue visiting different wards and villages over the coming weeks as it introduces itself to voters across the municipality.
Political activity is expected to increase in the coming months as parties prepare for the elections, with residents likely to see more community meetings, door-to-door campaigns, and public engagements.
For many voters, these visits provide an opportunity to hear directly from political organisations and compare their plans for service delivery, local development, and municipal governance before casting their votes.
